    Mostly insightful
This podcast is worth listening to as they have the cast and show runners on. The hosts are excitable about the show and it’s nice to have hosts that love the show but the never ending laughing/giggling from Jason at times make it tough to listen to (particular the interview with the dragonseeds. Yes, those guys are funny but it’s almost an obsequious laugh.)

The first and last word on this series
Super entertaining, super insights, and many great guests. Any GOT fans and now HOD fans cannot but enjoy these episodes.

    The Host is awful
Wish this was so much better. The male host is unbelievably annoying, to the point where I don’t think I can hang in there. Come on HBO this is who you came up with??? Greta is fine

    Love ❤️ this pod!
The only thing more fun than watching HOTD, is listening to this pod before rewatching each episode. Sad it’s another year before we get it all back…can’t wait 😍

    Oh no
The television show itself is God awful so you can imagine how awful it is to listen to people being excited about such a terrible show. they had to follow in the footsteps of woke Hollywood and make this a DEI show and it totally suffers for it because it feels forced upon you and completely inorganically contrived. The original was so fantastic for six seasons in this fall so very short of the original That I find it unbelievable anyone would want to listen to the people behind such an awful show.

    Listen every week
I love being able to take a deep dive into each episode with the show hosts and their guests. This podcast adds so much to my enjoyment of the actual show. Thanks for your podcast!

Makes me laugh…and understand the show more!
This podcast is so informative and entertaining… I break all the rules and listen to it before watching each episode. It’s actually helps me understand the nuances of each scene since I’m not a book reader. It’s my favorite podcast.
  • An actual designer
    Bland commentary but good interviews
Official podcasts are a double edged sword. On one hand, the hosts get to interview the actors, writers, and producers, which is usually interesting (the official HBO Succession pod did a great job on this). On the other hand, you’ll never hear an honest critique, and it’s pretty glaring on this podcast. Greta in particular rarely has anything insightful to say and often resorts to her favorite contribution, sighing. It’s as if she watched the show while scrolling her phone. Jason seems to have slightly more knowledge about the lore, but I would prefer if they had hosts who could provide more insights for listeners who haven’t read the books.

    Extremely biased take on HOTD
If you are looking for an objective (or as close to it as possible) take on the show this is not it. These people are paid by HBO and will never give negative constructive criticism of this show. The mass amount of viewers agree this second season was sub par and a let down and these hosts act as if it was Gods gift.

    Fantastic!!!
I look forward to these podcasts almost as much as the actual HOTD episodes. Such a fun duo and their analysis is second to none!!

    Best HOD pod
Found this recently and now it’s a must listen. The hosts are great at pulling the threads of each episode and having guests from the show give insight is really fun!

    Another WOKE podcast.
Stopped listening when the host asked the show producer for Sharako Lohar’s pronouns.

    Best HOTD podcast!
I love listening to your podcast! I look forward to every drop, right after I see an episode! You guys are funny, intelligent, and insightful. Short of me reading the books myself, you are my best source! Congratulations on the success of this podcast! Keep it going!

    Knowledgeable and funny co-hosts
Jason and Greta are hilarious and have great chemistry. Jason is an expert and adds context to all the small details in each episode while Greta brings a “never read the books” point of view to listeners. They clearly enjoy riffing off each other and entertaining the rest of us. Great podcast!
  • Beems33
    Epic
Another epic season from our two heroes. I really enjoyed listening to Jason and Greta tell us all that we need to know. Keep it coming!
  • pro rational dialogue
    Amateur-ish
I’m puzzled as to how these two people are the best choice for this podcast. The nasally whiny voices, the annoying laughter, their self-amusement at their own tedious narratives which they seem to think are witty… all of it makes it impossible for me to listen to this. Why would anyone who likes this show listen to these insipid morons?

This show got me into podcasts!
I was never a podcast listener, but first learned about Jason and Greta’s show at the Official Game of Thrones Fan Convention in 2022. As a companion piece to the HBO show, I look forward to it nearly as much as each new episode of House of the Dragon itself! Jason and Greta have a great give-and-take, and each brings something critical to the show. It’s easily digestible, very funny listening, and is very accessible for any level of fan. Even amongst Jason and Greta, there is an avid book reader who contributes recaps and lore relative to the source material as well as another who is unfamiliar with the original novels but adores the in-show universes. Since discovering this podcast by happenstance (at a Convention), I’ve started listening to many more podcasts, especially further ASOIAF-related media. Thanks, Jason, Greta, and HBO for making this podcast almost as entertaining as its subjects!

Love watching the show Sunday night and then driving to work Monday and listening to the recap!!! Us fans can relate with the hosts because its evident that hosts are genuine fans of the Westeros world!

    Great Hosts, Insights and Guests!
I look forward to the official HOD podcast each week after the Edison Ed have aired. Jason and Greta provide amazing recaps and humorous commentary, as well as insightful info-sometimes from the books! They also get cast members as guests, which adds to the enjoyment. LOVE this podcast!! Would recommend to any GOT/HOD fans!!

Is Aemond loosing control of his Dragon
Question Vhagar seems to not be listening to Aemond.. I thought it was a fluke with the death of Rhaenyra‘s son. But after episode seven is Vhagar looking for another rider? It’s weird to me that the connection is supposed to be so deep with the dragons and the riders. What if a dragon turned on their rider?

    The best!!!
idk what i look forward to the most , HOD every sunday night or listening to the breakdown and interviews in this podcast every monday 😻 going to miss it when the season is over!

    Suggestion topic
If there is going to be a show after the finale tying things up is there reference to the people that are writing the actual story and recording these events in the show? Where are the maesters that are recording this information at?
  • racheledavy
A great supplement to the show!
Listening to Jason and Greta debrief the latest episode is just as fun to me as watching the show each Sunday! Jason and Greta have a great rapport and obviously care deeply about the story and characters. I like that Jason is familiar with the text and that Greta is not so they can play off of that dynamic. The interviews are always spectacular and provide deeper insights into the production, writing, characters, and more, which is a great way to dive deeeeep (#OGBingeModeFan) into this wonderful series.

    Too much laughing
Great podcast. Cool it with all the laughing and just talk about the episodes please,
  • Regpasha1
    Great but…
This is a really wonderful podcast worthy of 5 stars BUT… I was compelled to dock a star because the uproarious guffawing is freaking obnoxious . For the love of God,Take it down a notch Gretchen .

    Jason is the man!
Have listened to Jason C talk about thrones since the binge mode days and he’s always the best!!

    Love
Love that’s it’s available right after the episode and that they bring such great guests.

The Theme for Every Episode This Season
The theme is in the opening season and three lines—Duty is sacrifice, It eclipses all things, even blood All men of honor must pay its price The show is great for the details. This is the season. As for Aemond, he is a Hamas leader and Kings Landing is Gaza

    LOVE this Podcast
I love getting into details of the episode that I may have missed or things that I got right. Jason and Greta are such a fantastic duo at breaking down each episode. Also, because Jason and Greta are such super fans, the pair must be in an episode.🙏🏻

If I’m being honest, it sounds like Greta hasn’t watched a single second of this entire series or Game of Thrones for that matter. She sounds as if she is just reading a script and being told what to say. Her commentary is just completely off and awkward. This podcast is almost insufferable and that is sad because the show is so good. I’m not even sure this podcast is necessary considering the hosts sound uneducated and forced to be there. Sounds like they just hired two random people off the street to read a script.

    It's like, when like…
It's like, when like, 90, like, percent, of like, your, like, vocabulary, is like, the word like. Greta, come on. You’re better than that.

    Good content
Love how detailed and knowledgeable everyone is on the panel but the male voice is very annoying

    More episodes please!!!
I love this podcast so much that I wish you put out more content in between episodes. You guys are so good and entertaining!! Love love love!!!

X Ray Vision is way better
Check out Jason’s other podcast for a far more fun and interesting discussion on House of the Dragon. This pod is so muted and bland.
  • Hbork
    Wrong name 🤦🏻‍♀️
Please stop calling him Christopher Cole.
  • Good side deets
    Good side details
Loved the episode with the sound lady on how they made the dragon voices. Super cool!! I would say Jason’s voice goes up and down a lot in dictation so he can be hard to follow.
  • T0mjun
    Great Podcast
Honestly my favorite podcast - I love to tune in every week after each episode. I don’t understand any of the hate that the hosts get, they are both great! My only complaint is I wish some of the interviews were longer 😭😭
  • Missycakes81
    Misleading but good
I enjoy this podcast because I can’t get enough of HOTD, but I find it frustrating that each episode is marketed as based on the episode of the show and yet there is no actual discussion of each episode of the show. They just pick a different topic to discuss each week. So I find the format misleading & a little disappointing.
  • HubbleLife
    We are having Fun
I come over immediately after the episode. I enjoy Greta and Jason’s laughter. I myself get giddy about the story and characters. It’s fun no matter the dark concepts. I also enjoy the book details in comparison to the episodes.
  • lamichigan
    Content or Excessive Laughing
I prefer to hear the HOTD details and content versus the excessive, unnecessary, overused laughter and jokes. Seriously. I am questioning if I can listen to this podcast for an entire season and this is only the 2nd episode.
  • pj6574328766897543
    Interesting
love this podcast but Greta’s constant gushing and annoying fake laughter is too much.

    Great Job
Thanks for bringing creative team and actors to the show. Jason and Greta do a wonderful job!
  • irfswaggy
I can’t believe this is the “Official” podcast
This podcast is so awkward in the worst way. I feel like I’m listening in on the forced banter that happens before a PTA meeting. It’s almost as if they’ve been given a list of talking points which they’re forbidden to stray from. Which isn’t a horrible practice on its own but these hosts seem completely uninspired as they move from one trite observation to the next, occasionally dropping a corporate-approved, milquetoast reaction. I cannot fathom how a show that is known for pushing boundaries can have such a sterile, cookie-cutter podcast. This series deserves a podcast that is either hosted by supernerds that are obsessed with everything GoT or lively people who can share genuine reactions to the insane things that happen in the show.

    Just so many bad takes
I tried to like the show, but they are just always dishing out the worst, superficial, and most emotionally unintelligent takes. It’s so frustrating to listen to them get the ethical perspective of every situation just so wrong. As an example, in the episode where they discussed alicent realizing rhaenyra had been with Sir Criston they said Alicent had every right to be angry about “all the lying” from rhaenyra. UM, NO. Rhaenyra has every right to keep her sex life private as does anyone else. Just because her friend questions her about it (which by the way, is intrusive and wrong) and she was put in a position of either lying or exposing herself, her father, her kingdom, her life, everything she cares about—-to destruction—doesn’t mean she has to spill her private life. Alicent is mad because she invaded her friend’s privacy with a dangerous question that was NONE OF HER BUSINESS, and her friend chose not to share info Alicent had no right to anyway. Get it straight. No one is owed your privacy. Rhaenyra has done nothing willing to Alicent. The hosts did it again when Alicent stabbed her, saying her anger was justified. Again, it’s wild how two people who constantly talk about the patriarchy reveal their own patriarchal leanings by siding with Alicent and repeatedly demeaning Rhaenyra for daring to make her situation work for her rather than play the martyr that Alicent does. Just barf takes over and over. Plus, they get motivations wrong all the time and the only relief is when a cast member comes on and explains what should’ve been obvious to them. It’s just like listening to two very immature and socially awkward people try to make sense of ethical and emotional complexities they don’t understand, and always landing on the worst possible take. Gotta stop listening. It’s making me too mad.
  • Cnctennis
    Yay Jason’s baaaack!
Nobody does Westeros quite the way Jason does - I look forward to the recaps almost as much as the shows. So good. Thanks HBO.
  • ForTheBirds111
    Love it but
I do enjoy these podcasts but sometimes it feels like Jason pronounces names wrong on purpose. By now he should know how to pronounce them. He does this too with the podcast for Foundation.
